Q. What were the results of the LUX-Lung 3 trial?

A. The most important point that we are comparing is the time of the disease control and the time of disease control for the patients who receive afatinib* was close to a year where those for patients with combination chemotherapy was nearly seven months. So, that was highly significant. In ninety percent of the patients who had common mutations; these patients actually had a disease control time longer than a year; 13.6 months, whereas those patients with chemotherapy only had 6.9 months. So that was very significant as well.

*Afatinib is an investigational compound. Its safety and efficacy have not yet been fully established.
